PROFILE OF THE DEAN, SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY, FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, AKURE, NIGERIA-PROFESSOR OKE KAYODE PETER
Oke, Peter Kayode was born on 24th August, 1971 in Are-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Aftr his Primary education at Omodara Community Primary School, Ido-Ekiti in 1983, he gained admission to Ekiti parapo College, Ido-Ekiti where his academic brilliance shone to the forefront. Immediately, he was admitted to the Ondo State University of Ado-Ekiti(OSUA) now Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti (EKSU) in 1989, he proved that his academic brilliance was not a fluke and thus graduated as the best graduating student in the 1995 set of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
As earlier stated, his first degree was a Second Class Honours Upper Division in Mechanical Engineering from Ondo State University of Ado-Ekiti (OSUA) now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU) in 1995. Thereafter, he proceeded to the Federal University of Technology, Akure where he had his master’s degree and PhD in the year 2000 and 2009 respectively.
He is a member of the following professional bodies: Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Council for the regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and Nigerian institution of Mechanical Engineers (NiMechE).
Prof. Oke has taught over thirty (30) courses at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti and other tertiary institutions and also supervised several students at the postgraduate level. He has attended several conferences across the nation and has numerous publications min reputable journals.
He has contributed immensely to the community and served within and outside in various capacity in the following communities and groups:
He has a proven antecedent and track record of high performance and leaving a place better than he met it. Prof. Oke is happily married and blessed with children.
