Okewale Ismail Adeniyi was born into the family of OKEWALE of Inurin’s Compound Oke Osun Iragbiji Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State. He had his elementary and secondary educations in Ipetu Ijesa Osun State. Dr Okewale obtained his Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering with Second Class Upper Honours in 2006 from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State Nigeria. He had his Master of Engineering in Rock Mechanics with Distinction in 2013 from Department of Mining Engineering of Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State Nigeria. Dr Okewale bagged his Ph. D degree in Geotechnical Engineering in 2017 from City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
He is a corporate members of the Nigerian Society of Mining Engineers (NSME), Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) and a registered Engineer with Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Dr Okewale joined Federal University of Technology Akure in 2014 as an Assistant Lecturer in the department of Mining Engineering and he is presently Senior Lecturer in the same department. He has been awarded Scholarships and Grants and these include Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS, 2014-2017), Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Entrance Scholarship (2014-2015) and TETFund National Research Fund Award of Federal Republic of Nigeria on “Soft Computing Application for Optimum Rock Fragmentation Prediction and Model Development in South west Nigeria Quarriable Rocks” (2020).
His area of research includes Geotechnical Engineering, Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geochemistry, Geomaterials Characterisation, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering and Earth Sciences.
He has published articles in very good journals in Elsevier, Springer Nature, ASCE, iPress and others and he has also attended and published proceedings in national and international conferences. Dr Okewale is a reviewer for many referred journals in Elsevier, Springer Nature, Techno-Press, Cell Press and others.
Dr Okewale is happily married to Lasisi Halimah Iyabo and they are blessed with Okewale Hassan Taiwo, Okewale Hussein Kehinde, Okewale Aisha Idowu and Okewale Ameera Alaba.
