PROFILE OF DR. B. O. SOYOYE
SUB-DEAN, SEET
Soyoye Babatunde Oluwamayokun was born into the family of SOYOYE of the Olowoogemo Compound Keeta Okeejigbo Abeokuta of Ogun State. He had his elementary and secondary educations in Odeda Area of Ogun State. Dr. Soyoye obtained his Bachelor of Engineering in Agricultural Engineering with Second Class Upper Honours in 2008 from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State Nigeria. He had his Master of Engineering and PhD in Farm Power and Machinery in 2012 and 2018 respectively from the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering of the Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State Nigeria. Dr. Soyoye did his Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia between 2022 and 2023.
He is a corporate member of the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (MNIAE), Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE), International Soil Tillage Research Organization (MISTRO) and a registered Engineer with Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Dr. Soyoye joined the service of the Federal University of Technology Akure in 2013 as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering and he is presently a Senior Lecturer in the same Department. He has been awarded Scholarships and Grants and these include FUTA TETFund Research Reference No. VCPU/TETfund/155 entitled; ‘Development and Performance Evaluation of an Instrumented Motorized Grain Crop Planter’ and TETFund Postdoctoral Fellowship Research Fund Award of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on “Non-Destructive Prediction of Cocoa Maturity Status” (2022).
His area of research interest includes Farm Power and Machinery, Soil Tillage Dynamics, Agricultural Machinery Design, Precision Farming, Machine Simulation and Instrumentation.
Dr. Soyoye is highly committed to research and some of his research findings have been published in both Local and International Journals.
He relates very well with both staff and students. He is very passionate in the handling of all matters relating to the welfare and progress of both staff and students.
